Portsmouth Wedding Photographer - Laura and Jason get married at HMS Warrior

Today I was back again at a local wedding at one of my favorite locations – HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Laura and Jason.

The ceremony was in the more intimate location of the Captains Cabin today & the weather threatened but failed to dampen spirits before the ceremony. The mood and atmosphere at this fantastic location is truly special and a good time was clearly had by all the guests.

We were lucky with bright, yet windy conditions, despite heavy showers before the wedding - for photos. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos on deck and at various locations around the ship and were lucky with a short break in the heavy showers, before the couple and their guests headed off to the Portsmouth Marriot Hotel for their reception.

You can view their website here: https://www.marriott.co.uk/hotels/travel/pmeha-portsmouth-marriott-hotel/

The website of HMS Warrior is here: http://www.hmswarrior.org/

The images will be available for viewing for Laura and Jason and their families very soon.

Sports and Event Photographer in Surrey - Official photos for the Cabbage Patch 10 running race in Twickenham

Today I visited a regular annual event for me – the Cabbage Patch 10 Running Race, hosted by The Stragglers Running Club, near Twickenham. I was the official photographer for the event on 18th October was their annual and very competitive 10 mile ‘road’ running race. The event website is here: http://www.cabbagepatch10.com/

We had sunny and bright conditions and managed to capture a good selection of images around the course and finish area.

Along with my colleague we captured the runners at around 2 miles, 9 miles and pretty much all at the finish approach. I photographed the finish area and was able to catch up with some old friends who belong to The Stragglers running club and also the time keepers / finish time recorders from Sport Systems: http://www.sportsystems.co.uk/ss/index.htm

The images will be available for viewing and sale to the runners very soon, typically within 24 hours of each event.

Portsmouth Wedding Photographer - Carol and Robin get married at HMS Warrior

Today was a local wedding at one of my favorite locations – HMS Warrior in the Historic Portsmouth Dockyard. I was doing the wedding photography for Carol and Robin.

The ceremony was enjoyable to photograph and there is just sufficient light from a mini spot light over the location that the couple stand in on the ‘Half Deck’. The mood and atmosphere at this fantastic location is truly special.

We were lucky and bright conditions and surprisingly warm weather meant for great opportunities for photos. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos on deck and at various locations around the ship, before the couple and their guests headed below for a great meal, provided by the staff of County Caterers. You can view their website here, or via the link to them from my own website links page: http://www.countycaterers.co.uk/

The website of HMS Warrior is here: http://www.hmswarrior.org/

Surrey equestrian event photographer - Elstead Riding Club Autumn Show

Today I visited a regular haunt for me in ‘photo-land’ – a field in the middle of no where, but by the village hamlet of Elstead, near Guildford!! I was the official photographer for Elstead Riding Club and the event on 11th October 2009 was their annual ‘Autumn Show’.

We had variable and slightly damp and windy weather, which doesn’t make for ideal equestrian photography conditions. Along with my colleague and second ‘shooter’ called Graham Russell we captured the various classes ongoing throughout the day and spirits were kept up with regular trips to Skips fantastic ‘greasy spoon’ catering trailer.

There was a range of show jumping classes in one ring (that I covered) and two other rings with showing and varied events throughout the day – all of which kept us both fully occupied and pretty tired by the end of the event in mid afternoon.

The images will be available for viewing and sale to the riders and their families very soon.

Hampshire Wedding Photographer - Dawn and Jonathan get married in Warblington

Today was a local wedding at one of my favorite local Saxon churches in Warblington – my home Parish. I was doing the wedding photography for Dawn and Jonathan who had also attended the wedding I photographed for their friends last year – Nigel and Lucy. Infact, Lucy and Dawn were each bridesmaids at each others wedding.

The ceremony was attractive to photograph as the light and ambience at this cozy rural church is fantastic. You just have to watch out for the milk lorry or herd of cows in the lane during confetti sessions!!

We were lucky as bright conditions and surprisingly warm weather made for great photo opportunities. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos in the attractive doorway of this ancient church, before heading off to The Inn Lodge for the reception.

The website of the hotel and restaurant here: www.farmhouseinnlodge.com/innlodge/default.htm

The images will be available for viewing for Dawn and Jonathan and their families very soon.

Dorset wedding photographer - Sue and Sandy at The Langtry Manor Hotel

Today was a new one for me. I was doing the photography for the ‘Renewal of Vows Ceremony’ for Sue and Sandy at their fabulous location – The Langtry Manor Hotel and Lodge in Bournemouth.

Sue and Sandy had met me in 2008 when I photographed their daughters’ wedding: Lianne and Mark at HighCliffe Castle in Dorset: http://www.highcliffecastle.co.uk/

The ceremony was at 3pm and it was a dark and dreary day (outside at least). The photos were mainly indoors and a lot of fun was certainly had by all. You can view the website of this fabulous hotel and restaurant here: http://www.langtrymanor.co.uk/

Having photographed the ceremony, accompanied at times by the brilliant Sax playing of Claire Manners: http://www.livesax.co.uk/ we managed to pose for some fun portraits, group and candid ‘reportage’ shots, a small number of which are shown above. Although I left at the start of the meal time, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and were entertained by Doug, who doubled up as a stand in Registrar for the ceremony, Toastmaster, Photographers Assistant, Coach and Mentor – Thanks Doug!!

The staff at the Hotel were very helpful and allowed us to stay on at the ceremonial room (also the restaurant) for a good selection of our group and other family photos.

The images will be available for viewing for Sandy and Sue and their family very soon and for use in their planned album from Mario Acerboni: http://www.italianweddingalbums.com/

Sussex Commercial Photographer - for Maybo Ltd near Hastings

Today was a commercial job. I was doing the group and single portrait photography for the staff of Maybo Ltd – ‘The Conflict Specialist’ who were in the middle of their annual staff seminar and had chosen the Bannatyne Hotel and Spa in Hastings, East Sussex, as their fantastic location.

The staff had come to Hastings from locations around the country – but their Head Office is at Russet Farm in Roberstbridge, East Sussex and you can find out more about their work via their website: http://www.maybo.com/

Having photographed the entire group outside in the grounds of The Bannatyne Hotel near Hastings, I worked quickly to capture images of all 25 staff, who each posed for some individual portraits, some of which are shown above.

Things went very swiftly and the staff all seemed to enjoy their fairly painless experiences!! The staff at the Hotel were very helpful and allowed me to set up a temporary ‘studio’ in their fabulous Boardroom for this part of the shoot. I was able to use my Elinchrom Quadra portable battery operated studio lights, in a simple but effective set up. The Boardroom had deep red wallpaper, as you’ll see from my portraits!! The website for the hotel is here: www.bannatyne.co.uk/hotel/hastings

These images will be available for viewing for the representatives of Maybo Ltd very soon and for use in their PR, publications, and other materials.
