Wedding photography at The Millstream Hotel in Bosham, West Sussex.

Today I was at The Millstream Hotel in Bosham, West Sussex. I was doing the wedding photography for Debbie and Justin. I still cover a fair number of weddings throughout December and January - and particularly mid week and local ones through the winter period.

After a midday ceremony and a couple of shots near the dining area - we posed for some photos at various locations around the traditional and attractive hotel, before the couple and their small gathering of guests sat for their meal and an afternoon of celebrations. It was a damp, cold and overcast day (only outside!!) for photography today and a little chilly too. Most of the photography was indoors therefore, albeit I was only in attendance for around an hour and a half this time.

I enjoy working at the Millstream Hotel, which does have fantastic landscaped gardens for photography. It has fabulous FOOD too. The Restaurant Manager called Aris was our host for the day and is always very helpful to me. You can see their website and get further details here if you are interested: http://millstreamhotel.com/

I cover some local mid week weddings at very competitive rates – so please feel free to contact me to check out my availability and options or SPECIAL OFFERS. It is usually best advice to book a photographer early and particularly for popular summer dates, but you are always welcome to try and see if I am free nearer to your date, if you like.

Wedding Photographer in Chichester, West Sussex

Today I was at Chichester Register Offices. I was doing the wedding photography for Claire and Max. It was a relatively small family affair with a little over 30 guests in total.

After a midday ceremony and a couple of shots at the front door to the Register Offices - we posed for some photos within Priory Park, before the couple and their guests headed off to The Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea for a wedding breakfast and an evening of celebrations. On route to the Hotel, we stopped off for some Photos in Old Portsmouth and adjacent to The Square Tower and by the ‘Hot Walls’.

The website for the Royal Beach Hotel is here: http://www.royalbeachhotel.co.uk/ I can recommend them for a wedding reception and I enjoyed my trip to Southsea on Saturday. You can contact them via their website or else try: enquiries@royalbeachhotel.co.uk

Chichester Register Offices is one of my favorite local Register Offices to cover, as it is an attractive Georgian building in the historic centre of the City and the staff are always helpful to me. The Register Office doesn’t have a garden, but it is adjacent to an attractive park and not far away from the Cathedral which is perfect for wedding photos.

My photography features in the West Sussex Ceremonies guide too: http://cde.cerosmedia.com/1K4ba799b89e8f4523.cde

You can see the Register Office website and find further details here: www.westsussex.gov.uk/living/births_marriages_and_deaths/marriages_and_civil/ceremony_venues_in_west_sussex/ceremony_venues/chichester_registration_office.aspx
The images will be available for viewing for Claire and Max and their families very soon. There are just a few here to give you a flavor of the day. Please note that I am running some Winter ‘SPECIAL OFFERS’ on wedding photography rates and so please feel free to get in touch and see what I may be able to offer YOU.

Gosport Half Marathon. Sport event photography in Hampshire

Today I attended the Gosport Half Marathon, hosted by the members of Gosport Road Runners Running Club: http://www.gosportroadrunners.org.uk/

I was the official photographer for the event on 21st November and have covered this race as official photographer for five or six years now. It is very well organized and attended and the larger than previous years entry did catch me out a little at times. The event website is here: http://www.gosportroadrunners.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=57&Itemid=58 and it was a good turnout / entry level.

We had overcast conditions and so I managed to capture a good selection of images around the course at around 11 miles – on the promenade in Lee on the Solent. I chatted to a number of the marshals on the day and was impressed with their commitment and skill in hosting this race. The race seems to grow year on year and has a noticeably great atmosphere – even a steel band from Gosport.

I photographed the vast majority of runners, albeit some escaped me this year as I was at 11 miles and not 13 and runners do tend to run in packs or waves.

The images will be available for viewing and sale to the runners very soon, typically within 24 hours of each event. If you are organizing a similar event and require a high quality professional event photography service and typically with no cost to the organisers, please just get in touch.

Wedding photographer at Portsmouth Register Offices in Hampshire

Today I was at Portsmouth Registrar Offices for a wedding. I was doing the wedding photography for Celia and Alan. The wedding season is starting to slow down now, although I still cover a number and particularly mid week and local ones through the winter period.

It was a good overcast day for photography today, if a little chilly. After a 3pm ceremony and a couple of shots on the stair case - we posed for some photos at various locations around the Register Offices before the couple and their guests headed off to Waterlooville for a meal and an evening of celebrations.

The Portsmouth Register Offices is one of my favorite Register Offices to cover, as the space and gardens are fantastic and the staff are always helpful to me too. You can see their website here: www.portsmouth.gov.uk/living/580.html
I cover some local off season and mid week weddings at very competitive rates – so please feel free to contact me to check out my availability and options or SPECIAL OFFERS. It is usually best advice to book a photographer early and particularly for popular summer dates – but Celia and Alan actually only contacted me around a fortnight ago and luckily – I was free today.

The images will be available for viewing for Celia and Alan and their families very soon.

Wedding photography at Marwell Hotel near Winchester.

Today was a commercial job. I was doing some more disco and first dance photography for a local DJ – DJ Joe Smith who I met at The Brookfield Hotel Wedding Fair in the summer. The location Joe chose for this third photo session was a ‘real wedding’ at The Marwell Hotel (not Zoological Park or Marwell Hall where I frequently photograph weddings – or their 10K running race, where I attend as official photographer each year) to give him some variety of shots, primarily for use on his website.
The Marwell Hotel website can be found here: http://www.marwellhotel.co.uk/
The website for DJ Joe Smith is here: http://www.djjoe.co.uk/ Joe is local to me and based in Havant and so why not check him out if you are looking for a DJ for your wedding or other special occasion?

These images will be available for viewing for DJ Joe Smith very soon and for use in his PR, website, publications, and other materials.

If you should be considering using a professional photographer for publicity, PR, website, headshots, pack shots, staff in situ (action / story telling) photos – please feel free get in touch for a no obligation / no hard sell - discussion. I am offering some very good rates for imminent bookings, subject to my availability, I look forward to helping YOU too.

Wedding Fair at the Portsmouth Inn Lodge Hotel

On Sunday 7th November 2010 I attended a Wedding Fair at The Innlodge Hotel in Portsmouth. Well actually, I didn't attend the Hotel as an exhibitor, despite having covered many weddings and receptions here previously. But YOU may have found one of my photo card fliers (like the one above) in your 'goodie bag' for the first 75 couples who arrive at the event. I realise that many couples visiting will be getting married at other local churches and venues and I am pleased to say that the Hotel is on my doorstep and so I have good experience of many of the great venues and other locations for photography in our locality.

You can view the Innlodge website here: www.farmhouseinnlodge.com/innlodge/default.htm
I enjoyed working at the Innlodge previously (a popular Portsmouth reception venue) and so thought I would pop back and see what their wedding fair entailed.

I have worked with the conference and banqueting staff, including Keli Feilder who can be reached on 02392 650 510. She helps to coordinate all their weddings and other events and has been very helpful to me in the past.

If you attend the wedding fair on the 7th and took away my details - I look forward to meeting you and perhaps showing you a range of my sample wedding books, or being booked as your future wedding photographer!!
I would draw everyone’s attention to my SHOW Special Offer of a FREE DVD of all the 'high res' images presented – to any new wedding photography booking for 2010, 11 or 12 – received throughout the remainder of November 2010. Just call me for full details and to to take advantage of this time limited offer, at the time of booking. Bookings were flooding in during October - so please dont delay if YOU are looking for a great wedding photography deal for next year, or beyond.
Please contact me for further details, to discuss your plans or perhaps to ask for the opportunity to arrange to meet up at a mutually convenient time, should you wish to do so.

Wedding Photography including FREE DVD of 'High Res' images Special Offer

In conjunction with my attendance at a couple of local wedding fairs this Autumn, I am currently running a time limited SPECIAL OFFER of a FREE DVD containing all the images presented to each couple at 'HIGH RES' (capture size JPGS) for any new bookings accepted during October and November 2010 - for remaining 2010 dates and 2011 and 2012 wedding photography album packages. This makes for a potential saving of £299 for each booking.

With wedding photography inclusive album packages from £495 on the weekend and as little as £285 (20 loose prints) Monday to Thursday - this represents exceptional value for money.

This time limited (currently to the end of November) offer is being promoted via my website at http://www.martinlewis.biz/ and through social networking and various contacts at the venues I frequently attend and via my on line advertising at places like the Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding Magazine - suppliers listing 'photographers' category.

Please feel free to contact me to check out my availability and see what I may have in store for YOU.

Your Hampshire Wedding Magazine - Sept / Oct 2010. Hampshire Wedding Photographer - Martin Lewis

I was pleased to be selected as the wedding photographer to supply the Sep / Oct 2010 edition of the Your Hampshire Wedding Magazine, my images for the cover photo and also a ‘real wedding’ article, starting on Page 62. The real wedding and cover photo came from the wedding of Emily and Chris who got married on the 3rd July 2010 at HMS Warrior and so is featured earlier in my blog – Warrior is one of my favourite venues for wedding photography in our region. It is an atmospheric and unique maritime venue, having spectacular backdrops, vibrant colours and amazing structures which make for great, traditional or sometimes fairly modern images. You can view details of the HMS Warrior website here: http://www.hmswarrior.org/hospitality/weddings1.htm

I thoroughly enjoy working at HMS Warrior where I also advertise in their brochure. I especially enjoy working with their Events staff, including Emma, Julie and Andrew, who can be reached on 02392 778 604. They coordinate all their weddings and other events, to a high standard and are great people to work with and are fantastically committed to their roles and this great ship.

The Your Hampshire Wedding Magazine is about to morph into the Your Hampshire and Dorset Magazine and, as such will cover the adjacent County and one where I frequently attend to cover local weddings. The home page of the magazine is here: http://www.yourhampshirewedding.co.uk/index.cfm

I should also make mention here of the fab catering suppliers who serve Warrior weddings: County Caterers. They produce fantastic cuisine, refreshments and service, in my experience. You can view their website here, or via the link to them from my own website links page: http://www.countycaterers.co.uk/

If you purchase a copy of the Sep / Oct edition (or future ones) and want to get in contact with me about your wedding plans – please feel free to do so. I look forward to possibly meeting you and perhaps showing you a range of my photos and wedding books.

A few sample HMS Warrior images from the wedding of Emily and Chris are shown here – just to wet the appetite. If you scroll back through my blog – you’ll find many more throughout the previous weddings.

I also thank the editor of the magazine called Rowena for giving me permission to reproduce the small cover photo here.

Commercial photographer in Dorset

Today was a commercial job. I was doing (a second session) disco and first dance photography for a local DJ – DJ Joe Smith who I met at The Brookfield Hotel Wedding Fair, earlier in the year.
The location Joe chose for this second photo session was a ‘real wedding’ at Trenchard Lines near Salisbury. We plan to cover another photo shoot shortly at Marwell (Hotel, not Zoological Park) to give him some variety of shots, primarily for use on his website.

The website for DJ Joe Smith is here: http://www.djjoe.co.uk/ Joe is local to me and based in Havant and was also at The Langstone Hotel Wedding Fair I attended a week or two ago. Why not check him out if you are looking for a DJ for your wedding or other special occasion? I can certainly recommend him after hearing and watching him work on a couple of occasions now.
