Hampshire wedding photographer - Becky and Martin get married at St Marys and The Hilton Hotel in Southampton

Today I was at St Mary’s in Sholing - Southampton and then The Hilton Hotel in Southampton, for the wedding photography for Becky and Martin.
I have uploaded some images to give you a flavor of the day. The ceremony was good to photograph as St Mary’s has great natural light and attractive frontage and ample space. The weather was just about bright and kind enough to us, albeit a couple of showers occurred during the times we were travelling from the church to the Hotel.
With around 50 people at the 1.30pm church ceremony, it made for a cozy family affair and it wasn’t until the evening that a much larger number of guests and friends arrived.

After the ceremony we moved swiftly for photos into the grounds. We posed for some photos at various locations around the church before heading off to The Hilton Hotel in Southampton for a relaxed time, great service and further photos. Then came a traditional receiving line, into the wedding breakfast, followed by an evening of celebrations.

The website of the Hilton is here: http://www.hilton.co.uk/southampton?WT.srch=1
All guests had a seemingly fantastic afternoon and evening and I was able to grab a great Hilton bar meal during the time that the guests had their food. Then I rejoined them for photography of speeches, cake cutting and first dance which exploded into life with a bursting balloon display.
It was my first visit to this particular Hilton Hotel and the event was coordinated by Sue Lyons who did a fantastic job and was very helpful to me throughout the day. Sue can be contacted at the hotel on: 023 8070 2700

The images will be available for viewing for Becky and Martin and their families very soon.

Wedding Fair on board HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth

On the evening of 24th February 2010 I was very pleased to be one of the lucky ones attending the first ever Wedding Fair at HMS Warrior in The Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth – Warrior is one of my favourite venues for wedding photography in our locality. It has spectacular backdrops, vibrant colours and amazing structures which make for great, traditional or formal and yet sometimes fairly modern image making. You can view details of HMS Warrior and the wedding fair website here: http://www.hmswarrior.org/hospitality/weddings1.htm

I thoroughly enjoy working at HMS Warrior where I also advertise in their brochure. I supply my images for use in that brochure, the official website and other marketing material. I especially enjoy working with their Events staff, including Kerry, Julie and Andrew (to name a few) who can be reached on 02392 778 604. They coordinate all their weddings and other events, to a high standard and are great people to work with and are fantastically committed to their roles and this great ship.

I also previously provided my images for brochure and website commercial use for the approved main catering suppliers: County Caterers. They produce fantastic cuisine, refreshments and service, in my experience. You can view their website here, or via the link to them from my own website links page: http://www.countycaterers.co.uk/
It was an enjoyable event and I met with a steady stream of couples, individuals and families. If you were one of those that did pick up my details or are interested in my work, please do not hesitate to get in contact and to ask any further questions, or to check my potential availability for your wedding. I can happily meet up and show you my work, samples of which were available to preview at the show. I displayed my work in wedding books by:
A few sample HMS Warrior images are shown here – just to wet the appetite.

Hampshire Event Photographer: Ladies Night at The Brookfield Hotel

This evening I attended The Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth to photograph one of their popular ‘Ladies Nights’. You can view the website of the hotel here: http://www.brookfieldhotel.co.uk/ I was the official photographer again for their event on 20th February 2010.

As you can see from the sample of photos I have attached – it was a black tie event and was attended by around 60 people. Couples and family groups posed for some portraits in my temporary studio at the hotel between around 5.30pm and 6.30pm. Later in the evening I set up my Mitsubishi Dye Sub printer and was able to print some high quality 9x6 inch mounted prints, a fair selection of which were purchased by the guests during the breaks in their event and entertainments.
Photo printing on-site can work extremely well at this kind of special event - formal but great fun. It provides added value to the clients and venue and an instant memento of the evenings celebrations. Why not contact me if you are holding a similar event, to see if I am free and might attend yours?

I thoroughly enjoy working at the Hotel and especially with their Wedding and Events Manager called Jamie Drew (01243 373 363) who coordinates all their weddings and other events.
The guests seemed to have a fantastic evening of music, dancing and fine cuisine and I didn’t finally get away after a busy evening until around 11pm.

My images will be available for viewing and sale to the participants very soon, typically within 24 hours of each event. A few sample images are shown here – just to wet the appetite.

Sussex Sports Event Photographer, The Chichester 10K Run

Today I attended the Chichester 10K Race, hosted by the Rotary Club of Chichester Priory: http://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/homepage.asp?ClubID=1628 You can view their website here and see some of the fantastic work and fundraising they do.

The entire selection of photos is at my main website in the 'order online' section at: http://www.martinlewis.biz/ A few sample images are shown here – just to wet the appetite.
I was the official photographer again for their event on 7th February 2010 which is their very successful annual 10K ‘road’ running race – a Sussex AA Road Challenge Event and Sussex Grand Prix Event too.

The event website is here: http://www.chichester10krace.org.uk/index.htm and there was a higher than previous entry level which made for a hectic finish area and race photography!!
From my perspective as an observer – the Chichester Race is one of the best organized I see and always has a great atmosphere amongst entrants, spectators and officials.

We had fairly overcast, but calm conditions and I managed to capture a lot of images at the start and finish area. I mainly focused on the finish area and was able to capture images of the majority of runners as they sprinted past the Chichester Festival Theatre: http://www.cft.org.uk/index.asp and into the well coordinated finish area.

Timing was recorded by E S Sports Ltd: http://www.chiptiming.co.uk/results.php who provided a first class results management service, utilizing an ingenious timing chip that looks like a mini credit card and attaches to the runners shoe laces.

All other sponsors, helpers and team members can be viewed via the Chichester 10K event website home page, mentioned above.

My images will be available for viewing and sale to the runners very soon, typically within 24 hours of each event.
