I am an experienced wedding and event photographer, based on the borders of Hampshire and West Sussex. By meeting each client I can tailor what I can offer to adapt my approach to ensure that your collection of images portrays your memories in a way that is unique to you and exactly how you would want it. I am also an experienced event photographer, covering equestrian events - such as One Day Events, Hunter Trials, Show Jumping, Showing and Dressage. Since starting as a pro photographer I have covered some running events - such as marathons and 10Ks and triathlon. Initially gaining experience at major marathons such as Dublin, Blackpool, Cardiff, London and the Great South and Great North Runs, I now mainly cover more local and regional events.
Mid week I also cover commercial photography and some portraiture - both in a studio environment and on location. I am looking to expand my commercial work in the current year. High quality commercial photography can make a real difference to the image of your business or brand, but can still represent great value.

Wedding Photographer at Langrish House Hotel Wedding Fair - 29 January 2012

I had a fantastic time attending the Langrish House Hotel Wedding Fair on the 29th January 2012 as an exhibitor. Langrish is a fantastic Manor House with superb gardens for wedding photography and is near Petersfield in Hampshire. This was my second visit to Langrish House Hotel as an exhibitor, having covered a number of weddings and receptions here previously. I also advertise in their 2012 wedding brochure and the hotel holds one sample album containing images I captured at previous Langrish House weddings.
I realise that many couples visiting will be getting married at other local churches and venues and I am pleased to say that the Hotel is close to home and so I have good experience of many of the great venues and other locations for photography in our locality. Wedding Photographer at The Langstone Hotel on Hayling Island near Portsmouth in Hampshire.

Lynda and Gary’s wedding ceremony and reception was at The Langstone Hotel, on Hayling Island, Hampshire. It’s a fantastic hotel for a wedding and right on my doorstep.
I started my day with some shots of Gary and his Best Man, Martin - then the bride and her brother and the bridesmaids.
Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos inside the hotel in view of the weather conditions. There is a great and light conservatory and other areas within the hotel, making for relaxed and creative photo opportunities, regardless of what the weather decides to throw your way at this venue (it was windy on Saturday).
The Langstone Hotel is a large hotel, in the beautiful coastal rural Hampshire countryside, surrounded by Chichester harbour and a busy marina in one direction. On the day I was assisted by Franco who is always really helpful and supportive to me.
I can’t recommend this local Hotel enough and in fact attend their very popular wedding fairs in October and February each year & also advertise in their current Ceremonies brochure.
Also present at the wedding were a range of local suppliers, including Lawnswood Limousines, Cakeso’licious, Enchanted Flowers and also The Little Details Company who did a great job decorating the venue and tables at The Langstone Hotel.
The images were made available for viewing for Lynda and Gary and their families soon after the wedding. Attached is a small sample of photos from this great day.

Equestrian Event Photographer at The Priory EC in Frensham, Surrey

Today I visited The Priory Equestrian Centre, Frensham in Surrey. I was the official photographer for Wey Valley Riding Club and their Dressage event on 15th January 2012 – one of their Winter Series.

We had bright, dry and COLD conditions, which made for good opportunities for indoor photography.
I captured all classes ongoing throughout the day and in the indoor arena, with the new roof it has vastly improved natural daylight levels over previous years.
There are two areas, plus a warm up area at Priory EC, but the conditions meant that only the indoor school was suitable for all day use & so a decision had been taken to run all classes indoors through the whole day.

Wedding Photographer at Portsmouth Register Offices

Today I was at Portsmouth Registrar Offices. I was doing the wedding photography for Rachel and Mark, who were super to work with. I started at the house in Old Portsmouth with a few getting ready photos and shots of the bridesmaids and details of the preparations.
After a 3.00pm ceremony and a couple of shots on the stair case - we posed for some photos at various locations around the Register Offices before the couple headed off to Gunwharf in their Bentley wedding car.

Today I was at Portsmouth Registrar Offices. I was doing the wedding photography for Melanie and Matthew and it was extra special as it was a Christmas Eve wedding.
After a 3.00pm ceremony and a couple of shots on the stair case - we posed for some photos at various locations around the Register Offices before the couple headed off into Portsmouth for their wedding reception.

Wedding Photographer at HMS Warrior in Portsmouth

Today was a local wedding at one of my favorite locations & certainly most frequently visited for weddings during 2010 and 11 – HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Jemma and Darren.
As usual, I will display just a few favourite images from this special day. It was a 5pm ceremony and so it was dark before the bridal party arrived on site. I had planned to use my Elinchrom Quadra portable studio lights for the indoor group photos in Captains Cabin, but do also get some outdoor illuminations from the lights in the rigging of HMS Warrior, not to mention the wonderful Christmas lights!!

Today I was at Portsmouth Register Offices and then a trip into Old Portsmouth for further photography. I was doing the wedding photography for Chloe and Paul.
I was present early and in good time for a 9.30am ceremony. After the ceremony we captured a few group photos in the register office grounds, then we all headed off to Old Portsmouth for some further photos with the couple.
The wintry weather cleared today and whilst it was chilly, it was bright and sunny and fantastic for some mid morning photography in Portsmouth.

I was only with the couple and their five guests for a short while, but captured some attractive images of them and I particularly enjoy working in Old Portsmouth. Today I was at the Church of All Saints in East Stratton and then The Grange Hotel in Alton. I was doing the wedding photography for Beccy and Stuart who were fun to work with.
I was present from around one pm at the church and right up to the first dance. After the ceremony we captured a few group photos in the church grounds, then we all headed off to The Grange Hotel.

Official Sports Event Photographer - Gosport Half Marathon Official Photos

Today I attended the Gosport Half Marathon, hosted by the members of Gosport Road Runners Running Club: www.gosportroadrunners.org.uk They are a friendly and supportive crowd and the marshals and support crew do a fantastic job at this event which I have covered now for numerous years.
I was the official photographer for the event on 20th November 2011. The event website is here: www.gosportroadrunners.org.uk and it was a good turnout / entry level.
We had very sunny, warm and bright conditions and managed to capture a good selection of images on the course. I photographed the promenade in Lee on The Solent and was able to capture images of the vast majority of runners as they ran towards home at around 11 miles.

Today I am in the process of re uploading all the Wey Valley Riding Club event photography that I carried out on their behalf during 2011 to my website again.

Wedding Photographer at The Square Tower in Old Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Today I was at The Square Tower in Old Portsmouth and then The Still and West Pub upstairs Function area. I was doing the wedding photography for Laura and Chris who were a great couple to work with and who live in Old Portsmouth.
I was present from arrivals at The Square Tower for the 2pm ceremony and right up to the first dance. After the ceremony we captured a few group photos near the town walls, then the couple and myself headed off to the Hot Walls and even ventured onto the beach (well why not – no one else was there!!), just between the Square Tower www.squaretower.co.uk and the Still and West. The Square Tower is under new management since I last covered a wedding in this great location and Steve - the contact - is available via their website, or enquiries@squaretower.co.uk or 07519 505 785. Unlike many photographers and bloggers in general, I don’t use my blog to make political rants, or moans, or try and illustrate technical aspects about photography. Wedding Photographer at St Nicholas Church and The Hilton Hotel, near Arundel in West Sussex

Today I was at the Church of St Nicholas and then The Hilton Hotel in Arundel. I was doing the wedding photography for Karen and Alistair who were a great fun couple to work for.
I was present from late morning at Karen’s place of preparation and right up to the first dance. After the ceremony we captured a few group photos in the church grounds, then we all headed off to The Hilton Arundel, just off the main A259 between Arundel and Chichester.

Actress headshots - Commercial photography in Hampshire

Today was a brief commercial job. I was doing some headshot photography for a local woman – I was working with Vicky who required some actress headshots for her CV and directory listings.
I was asked to capture some images of Vicky that she could use for directories and promotional purpose. Photos of this nature are usually supplied as print ready JPGS so that the client can display them to prospective employers – either via print or web based. They are not supposed to be over photoshoped (include your wrinkles and natural blemishes!!), without distracting background and are usually made available in B&W and colour.

Equestrian Photographer at Withey Copse Farm in Ecchinswell, nr Newbury in Berkshire

Today I visited the Withey Copse Farm in Ecchinswell, nr Newbury in Berkshire. I was the official photographer for their Mini Cross Country event on 9th October 2011.
We had mild and windy weather, but I was sheltered in woodland, making for great light conditions for good equestrian photography.
There was a range of four classes, including a pairs class, which covered a similar circuit all day for the 90 entrants – all of which kept me fully occupied and pretty tired by the end of the event in late afternoon. Whilst fairly compact in cross country terms, the course included a lot of variety and it passed through a couple of open fields and a stretch of hilly woodland and even included some steps and a water splash, which gave the riders of Class 4 some added challenges. A lot of thought had obviously gone into the creation of this course and new event, which I was very pleased to be able to support.

It was well attended and I was well supported too, the atmosphere was very friendly and the spirit was more about families taking part than competition winning. This was my third visit to The Langstone Hotel as an exhibitor, having covered many weddings and receptions here previously and I also now advertise in their Wedding Ceremonies Guide. I realise that many couples visiting will be getting married at other local churches and venues and I am pleased to say that the Hotel is on my doorstep and so I have good experience of many of the great venues and other locations for photography in our locality.
I am excited by the prospect of this return visit and will be displaying a good range of my recent work and many of the products I supply. There will be real wedding albums of recent weddings from venues I frequently visit, such as The Langstone Hotel, HMS Warrior and others in Portsmouth, albums from weddings at Rhinefield House Hotel in the New Forest or HighCliffe Castle in Dorset.
As always, I enjoyed discussing everyones photography plans and ideas for their weddings. Wedding Photographer at All Saints in Denmead and The Langstone Hotel on Hayling Island in Hampshire

Natalie and Adam’s wedding ceremony was at All Saints Church in Denmead and the reception was at The Langstone Hotel, on Hayling Island, Hampshire. It’s a fantastic hotel and right on my doorstep.
I started my day with some shots of Adam and his Best Man, the bridesmaids and then the bride and her Father who arrived in a Lilac Beauford car provided by http://www.hamiltonweddingcars.com/ of Waterlooville.
The ceremony was great to photograph as All Saints Church has undergone a massive refurbishment and extension which makes it more like a modern Cathedral than a local Parish church. It benefits from a fair amount of natural light, as there are large roof light or dormer type windows.
Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos outside the rear of the church, before all heading back to Langstone Harbour.
The Langstone Hotel is a great location for photographs. It is a large hotel, situated in the beautiful coastal rural Hampshire countryside, surrounded by Chichester harbour and a busy marina in one direction. Equestrian event photographer at Tedworth Hunter Trials at Larkhill near Amesbury and Salisbury in Wiltshire

Today I visited a remote and windswept stretch of military land (Army MOD), at Knighton Down, Larkhill. I was the official photographer for the Tedworth Hunter Trials event on 25th September 2011.
We had variable and slightly cool and windy weather, a little rain and great light conditions for good equestrian photography.
There was a range of four classes which covered the same 2 mile circuit all day – all of which kept me fully occupied and pretty tired by the end of the event in late afternoon.

Today I was at Winchester Register Offices and Jermyn’s House and gardens. I was doing the wedding photography for Penny and Martin.
I have covered numerous weddings at Winchester Register Offices and the staff were all very helpful to me. After the ceremony we captured a few group photos in the grounds of the offices, then we all headed off to Jermyn’s House. Equestrian event photographer at Chase Farm, Bramshott in Hampshire

Today I visited Chase Farm, Bramshott, near Hindhead in Hampshire. I was the official photographer for Wey Valley Riding Club and their event on 18th September 2011 – one of a range in their Omnibus 2011 Schedule in which I advertise and am listed as their ‘official photographer’.

Today I was at Basingstoke Register Offices and Audleys Wood Hotel. I was doing the wedding photography for Samantha and Andrew.
It was the first time I covered a wedding at Basingstoke Register Offices and the staff were all very helpful to me. Actors Headshot Photography in Hampshire and West Sussex

Today was a commercial job. I was doing some headshot photography for a local man – I was working with James who required some actors headshots for his CV and directory listings.
I was asked to capture some images of him that he could use for directories and promotional purposes. Photos of this nature are usually supplied as print ready JPGS so that the client can display them to prospective employers – either via print or web based previews. They are not supposed to be over photoshoped (include your wrinkles and natural blemishes!!), without distracting background and are usually made available in B&W and colour.
These images will be available to James very soon and for use in promoting his acting career.

Wedding Photographer at St Huberts in Idsworth and Eartham House near Chichester

Today I was at St Huberts church in Idsworth, near Rowlands Castle and Eartham House, near Chichester. I was doing the wedding photography for Meriel and Pete.
St Huberts is probably the oldest and most stunning rural church I have ever visited in the UK and is well worth a visit if you are ever in this area. After the ceremony and some photos in the church (it rained – but certainly didn’t dampen spirits!!), we all headed off to Eartham House School, near Chichester.

Eartham House is a fantastic location for a wedding, with a grand front entrance, numerous grand rooms, a conservatory and a massive private and well maintained garden. It even had a small chapel on site. It makes it a great venue for relaxed wedding photography.

Today I was at All Saints church in Catherington and Upwaltham Barns, near Chichester. I was doing the wedding photography for Helen and Jim.
After the ceremony and some everyone type photos in the church grounds, we all headed off to Upwaltham Barns, near Chichester. Today was a commercial job. I was doing the second session of photography for a newly refurbished Pub restaurant – The Wheatsheaf Free House in Titchfield near Fareham, to be precise.

Wedding photographer at The Brasserie at No 68 in Fareham, Hampshire

Today I was at The Brasserie @ No 68 in Fareham, previously known as Edwinns. I was doing the wedding photography for Donna and Dean. After a fairly short ceremony and some group photos in the gardens, the couple and myself headed off the Porchester Castle to take create a few images in the sunny conditions & to get some photos of them with their Riley vintage car, which was supplied via www.barringtonslimousines.co.uk of Porchester.

The Brasserie @ No 68 is an attractive building, with a fantastic staircase, a grand front entrance, numerous rooms and a fairly large and well maintained garden. The reception room is also extremely attractive and well lit via two huge bay windows. It makes it a great venue for wedding photography & I was helped throughout the day by Andy and his team, who were all extremely helpful.

A short day, I covered the ceremony, some formal and informal fun shots at the venue and at Porchester Castle, cake cutting & that’s all.

Wedding Photographer at The Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth

Today I was at The Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Linda and Mark.
After the open air ceremony the couple headed off for a 10 min trip around Bournemouth with their horse and carriage. We then greeted them back and posed for some photos at various locations around the grounds, before the couple and their guests had a meal and an evening of celebrations.

After the ceremony we posed for some photos at various locations around the grounds, before the couple and their guests headed off, via a horse and carriage to The Brookfield Hotel for more photos, a meal and an evening of celebrations.

Wedding Photographer at The Bailiffs Court Hotel and Spa in Climping, West Sussex.

Today was a wedding in a lovely new location for me - The Bailiffs Court Hotel, Spa and Chapel in Climping, West Sussex. I was doing the wedding photography for Zara and Bruce.
The entire day was enjoyable to photograph and I was supported by Gail at the hotel, who was very supportive and helpful throughout.
We were lucky to get dry and bright conditions, for some great opportunities for photos around the attractive gardens and near to the small chapel, where a second ceremony and blessing took place.

Wedding Photographer at Horsham Register Offices in West Sussex

Today was the last July wedding after a very busy month and at a new location for me – Horsham Register Offices in West Sussex. I was doing the wedding photography for Lauren and Jeremy.
The ceremony was enjoyable to photograph and I was supported by a couple of very friendly and supportive Registrars.
We were lucky to get dry and sunny conditions, for some great opportunities for photos around the attractive gardens to the rear of this town centre historic building. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos at various locations, before the couple and their guests headed back to their family home and an afternoon and evening of celebrations.

Wedding Photographer at HMS Warrior in Portsmouth

Today was a local wedding at HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Mandy and David.

The ceremony was enjoyable to photograph and was on the ‘Half Deck’. We were lucky to get dry conditions, for some great opportunities for photos around the ship. Today was a local wedding at one of my favorite locations – HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Lingyang and Alex.

Wedding Photographer at Portsmouth Register Offices and The Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth, Hampshire.

Today I was at Portsmouth Registrar Offices for a wedding. I was doing the wedding photography for Jackie and Colin.
After the ceremony and a couple of shots on the stair case - we posed for some photos at various locations around the Register Offices before the couple and their guests headed off, via The Hot Walls’ to The Brookfield Hotel for more photos, a meal and an evening of celebrations.

Today I was at Portsmouth Registrar Offices for a second wedding. I was doing the wedding photography for Shirley and Peter. I still cover a number during the week and particularly local ones through the school summer holidays. Equestrian event photographer for Wey Valley Riding Club at Farnham Showground

Yesterday was a typical Sunday in photo land for me. I was doing the 'official photography' for Wey Valley Riding Club at their Show Jumping Gala at the Farnham Showground.

In case it was different where you were - it was a windy and wet day, with heavy and blustery showers & this makes for difficult conditions for photographing a horse show. The light was good and having generally mastered the conditions, I managed to capture a good range of images of the majority of the riders.

The day seemed a great success and was superbly coordinated by the volunteers at the Wey Valley Riding Club and in particular Nicky and Storme who I now know very well. Its always a long day for the organisers at these events and a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to make them such a success.

This was my first trip to the Farnham Show Ground. The venue hosted a great event and was easy to locate, unlike some, being immediately off the main road leading out of Farnham.

Wedding Photographer at Edes House in Chichester and The Spread eagle Hotel in Midhurst, West Sussex

Today I was covering the wedding photography for Sally and Gavin at Edes House in Chichester and The Spread Eagle Hotel in Midhurst. It was a 1.30pm ceremony, although I was working ‘all day’ at this wedding and so went to the Hotel to capture some images before Sally and her Dad left in the white Rolls Royce wedding car.

Not exactly fantastic July weather conditions, so - some indoor group photos, umbrellas and quick dashes between locations was the order for the day.
A short drive North of Chichester - The Spread Eagle Hotel and Spa was also fantastic from a photographers perspective and I was supported by Horace Yearwood-Grazette, Operations Manager, throughout the afternoon and evening. The staff at the hotel were exceptionally welcoming, helpful and friendly towards me and the guests. I am sure that the guests and the couple had a fantastic day – thanks to the staff and this memorable and luxurious hotel.

Wedding Photographer at St Francis Church in Bedhampton and Hayling Island Golf Club, in Hampshire

Joanne and Andrew had their 1.30pm wedding ceremony at St Thomas’ church in Bedhampton, Hampshire. It’s an attractive church on outskirts of Havant, near to my home town of Emsworth. The reception was at The Hayling Island Golf Club, Links Lane on Hayling Island, Hampshire.
I started my day at the church, with arrivals of Andrew and his Best Man and Usher, followed by bridesmaids, then Joanne herself. Jo and her Father arrived in a stretch limo.
The couple planned to have no formal ‘group photos’ at the church and just later at the Golf Club. The ceremony was good to photograph as the church benefits from a fair amount of natural light and the Vicar, David Proud and Verger were very helpful to me on the day.
Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some quick photos by a massive ancient tree and a few of the couple outside the front door of the church. We then all made our way to the reception venue, a Golf Club on the tip of Hayling Island.
This visit to The Hayling Island Golf Club was the first for me. I hope to attend some further events at this fantastic location. I was a relatively short day for me as I left at the time everyone was seated and ready for the wedding breakfast, at around 4pm.

Birthday Special Event Photographer in Hampshire.

Today was a little different for me. I was doing the birthday party photography for Karen and Dave at the Cowplain Activity Centre. It was a fancy dress James Bond 007 evening with all the guests had made a real effort to join in with & this made for some unusual and FUN photos.
We captured some family and group photos of all the 75 guests as they arrived. Starting a little prior to 7pm, I covered some family photos and then group photos until around 9pm, at which point the disco took priority over photos. It was certainly an enjoyable evening and Karen and Dave were a pleasure to work with.

Equestrian event photographer at Corradee Stud, Nottington, Weymouth in Dorset

Today I visited a new location for me – The Weymouth and District Riding Club hosted their Annual Show at the Corradee Stud in Nottington, WEymouth, Dorset. I was the official photographer for Weymouth and District Riding Club and their event on 26th June 2011.

We had an increasingly very bright and warm day, which made for great opportunities for photography. I captured images of the two showing arenas, before I moved around the venue for the later show jumping classes.
It was a good day, which kept me fully occupied until the close of play by mid afternoon. The riders all seemed to have a great day and participants and their families were clearly having a great experience at this fantastic venue.

Wedding Photographer at Langrish House Hotel near Petersfield in Hampshire

Today I was photographing a wedding at a favourite rural venue for me – I was doing the wedding photography for Laura and Richard at the Langrish House Hotel, near Petersfield in Hampshire. It was a 3.30pm ceremony, although I arrived early to have a good scout around and familiarise myself with this fantastic location. It was my first trip to langrish House on a summers day & so I was looking forward to some photography in their fantastic gardens and effectively, for a first time.

The ceremony took place in an intimate room into which the guests were comfortably seated. This was adjacent to the larger adjoining room, within which most of the guests were later seated for the wedding breakfast. We were lucky to get fair weather conditions, rounding off what has been a pretty variable June for weather - for some great opportunities for photos around the gardens.

Wedding photographer at The Royal Marines Museum Wedding Fair on 19 June 2011

What a fantastic day. I attended a Wedding Fair at The Royal Marines Museum in Southsea. This is one of my favourite venues to photograph in Southsea for wedding receptions and corporate and other prestigious events. A very busy day with a steady stream of people from start to finish. Well done to Zeenat and her colleagues including Liz at the museum and also Tracey and Jenny from Stylish Events http://www.stylisheventsfayres.com/ who put on this fantastic wedding exhibition.
Having recently and previously covered many weddings and other special events at the venue, I was excited about the opportiunity of meeting a large number of potential clients today and cetainly wasnt dissapointed.

Today was a Hampshire wedding at the fabulous venue of HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Suzanne and David.
The ceremony was great to photograph and was on the ‘Half Deck’. The mood and atmosphere at this venue is fantastic and has a distinctivly maritime theme!
We got a few opportunities for photos around the ship in between the showers and strong blustery conditions. Things were a little tricky at times during the photos owing to the weather conditions, but fortunately I know the venue very well and waas able to find areas below deck too. Wedding Photographer at Portsmouth Register Offices, in Burnaby Road, Portsmouth.

Today I was at the main Register Offices in Portsmouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Laura and Christopher.
The ceremony was great to photograph as the main ceremony room in Portsmouth is ideally laid out and lit for photography and the staff are always very accomadating and helpful to me.
We moved swiftly for photos on the staircase and then attractive gardens after the ceremony performed by the Portsmouth Registrars: www.portsmouth.gov.uk/living/580.html I also advertise within the Register Office Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships brochure and enjoy working at many and varied wedding and reception or photography locations throughout the city.

The guests then headed off to The Mountbatten Leisure Centre for their wedding breakfast and further celebrations.

Official Photographer with Wey Valley Riding Club at Combined Training Day at Iping Cross Country Course, near Midhurst

Today I visited the Cross Country Course at Iping near Midhurst in West Sussex. I was the official photographer for Wey Valley Riding Club and their event on 5th June 2011 – one of a range in their Omnibus 2011 Schedule in which I am pleased to be advertise and am listed as their ‘official photographer’.

Wedding Photographer at St Nicholas Church in Wickham in Hampshire.

Today was a fantastic wedding at the Church in Wickham, Hamshire, of St Nicholas. I was doing the wedding photography for Rebecca and Rodney.

St Nicholas is lovely church and the Revd Elizabeth Groves conducted a family orientated ceremony. After a small number of photos outside the door of the church - everyone went a couple of miles along the A32 to a local rural Water Authority Pumping Station, where a large marquee, games and gazeebos, bar and nine piece band, kept everyone comfortable and entertained into the evening. I left at the point all the guests had been seated for their meal after a very relaxed, hot, sunny and laid back time, between ceremony and meal time.

The wedding car was provided by Steve of Lawnswood and was a classic Black and White Rolls Royce. I enjoy working at weddings with Steve and his cars.

Wedding Photographer at Old Thorns Hotel and Country Club near Liphook in Hampshire

Today I was at the Old Thorns Manor Hotel, Golf and Country Estate, near Liphook in Hampshire. I was doing the wedding photography for Joanne and Robert.
Jo and Rob were good FUN to work with and clearly had an enjoyable time. After a short ceremony, effectively in a new bar location at the hotel, we all headed back to The Hampshire Suite, for an afternoon and evening of photos, a wedding breakfast and celebrations into the night. I hadn’t attended the venue since March 2010 and it is still being redeveloped extensively and we were in the 'Hampshire Suite' and not the ‘Grand Ballroom’ location on this occasion at this fantastic venue. The highlights for me included photos on the golf course near to a lake with fountain and some other fabulous locations. We were driven around in golf buggies at speed by Greg who was very helpful and knew all the best places to visit. I have attached a few of those images to give you a flavor of the day and can’t wait until the next time I return to this fantastic (from a photography perspective) location for a wedding in Hampshire.
I thoroughly enjoyed working at Old Thorns again and got on well with their wedding coordinator and the in house disco DJ who was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable about all aspects of his job.

Marwell Wildlife Park 10K Run and Fun Run - official photography.

Today I attended the Marwell 10K running race and Fun Run, hosted by Eastleigh Running Club. You can view their main website here: http://www.eastleighrunningclub.org.uk/ There is a link on their home page through to the Marwell 10K. I was the official photographer for the event on 22nd May 2011 for around the 6th year running. It was their annual 10K ‘road’ running race and Fun Run. The event website is here: www.eastleighrunningclub.org.uk/marwell.htm and you can see a ‘Race Review’ if you are interested. The members and volunteers from Eastleigh running club, lead by Deb Tyler, do a fantastic job at this race, in my view.
We had mild, overcast and windy conditions and I managed to capture a good selection of images around the course and near to the finish area.
I photographed at around 1K and also about 400m before the finish area and was able to capture images of the vast majority of runners as they sprinted down the hill into the Wildlife Park.
The location for this 10K and childrens fun run is truly unique. The event is supported by the staff at the Wildlife Park, a number of whom were running in the event. You can view their website here: http://www.marwell.org.uk/
Now in its 12th year, the money raised from the event for the Wildlife Park (many of the runners raise sponsorship monies for it) will go towards Marwell’s ongoing work to conserve endangered species and habitats, both locally and internationally, and to care for and feed the animals in the park. So it is also a race with a great cause & both myself and my family are annual members – it’s a great day out for kids and adults too.

Nicky and Darren’s wedding ceremony and reception was at The Langstone Hotel, at Hayling Island, Hampshire. It’s a fantastic hotel and right on my doorstep, which made a nice change as I cover weddings all over the South of England nowadays.
I started my day with some shots of Darren and his Best Man and Terry, the Father of the Bride. Terry in fact got married at this same location, a fair time ago (sorry Terry) – so the hotel has been popular for a long time.
The ceremony was good to photograph as the Spinnaker Suite benefits from a fair amount of natural light, as there are large panoramic windows, overlooking the harbour.
Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos outside the rear of the hotel, overlooking the harbour and distant Marina.
The Langstone Hotel is a great location for photographs. It is a large hotel, situated in the beautiful coastal rural Hampshire countryside, surrounded by Chichester harbour and a busy marina in one direction. Equestrian photographer at Fair Oak, Rogate, West Sussex for the Wey Valley Riding Club.

Today I visited Fair Oak - the Cross Country Course at Rogate in West Sussex. I was the official photographer for Wey Valley Riding Club and their event on 8th May 2011 – one of a range in their Omnibus 2011 Schedule in which I advertise and am listed as their ‘official photographer’.

I captured images of the furthest field on the course, giving me a widerange of fences. As it was also a training day, it gave riders free opportunity to jump any fences, or none, and in any sequence. This made it fairly tricky to cover as a photographer as there was no rythum or sequence to the riders, unlike in a competitive event.

Special event photographer at HMS Warrior in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Having nipped over to Portsmouth, late this afternoon, I headed to one of my favorite locations – HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I was doing the Birthday and Wedding Anniversary photography for Anna and Mark.
We captured some family photos around the ship. We opted for some photos on deck and at various locations, before the couple and their guests headed below for a great night of partying. Starting a little prior to 7pm, I covered some family photos and then candid photos above and below deck, before the guests sat down at around 8.15pm to a fantastic meal, provided by the staff of County Caterers. Wedding Fair at Explosion - The Museum of Naval Firepower in Priddys Hard, Gosport - Sat 7th May 2011

On Saturday 7th May 2011 I attended EXPLOSION the Naval FirePower Museum in Priddys Hard near Gosport in Hampshire. It was a two day wedding fair and I physically attended first day & popped back on the Sunday to retrieve my display items. The EXPLOSION website can be found here: http://www.explosion.org.uk/

The weding fair was hosted by Darren and Vince from Itsadoddle.com and there were lots of suppliers present.

I have listed some images from a previous weding I shot in May 2007 with Kevin and Stella, prior to the disco images I captured at a 2011 wedding when I was working alongside local DJ Joe Smith - to give you a better flavour of EXPLOSION which is a fab location for a wedding. Wedding photographer at Larmer Tree Gardens, Rushmore Estate, Tollard Royal, Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Today I was covering a wedding at a truly unique and new venue for me – I was doing the wedding photography for Hannah and Oliver at Larmer Tree Gardens, Rushmore Estate, Tollard Royal, Salisbury, Wiltshire. It was a 2pm ceremony, although I arrived early to have a good scout around and familiarize myself with this fantastic location for any wedding.
Larmer Tree Gardens was created in 1880 by General Pitt Rivers as pleasure grounds ‘for public enlightenment and entertainment’. The gardens are today an extraordinary collection of ornate buildings, colour, landscaped areas, trees and garden structures. I have never (until today) photographed a wedding in any setting like it. It is quite simply a photographer’s paradise.

The ceremony took place in a tiny and intimate folly, into which I wasn’t even allowed until the signing of the Registers. There was only room inside for 6 people plus the Registrars – the guests were seated outside on the lawn and each had a black and white ‘directors chair’ to sit on. I managed to get a good vantage point and could view the entrance of the bride and departure back down the isle. I could also see and photograph glimses of the ceremony itself too.

We were lucky to get fantastic weather conditions, rounding off a great April for weather - for some great opportunities for photos around the gardens.

Equestrian event photographer at Princes Place, Closworth near Dorchester

Today I visited a new location for me – The Weymouth and District Riding Club hosted their annual Hunter Trials at Princes Place, Dorchester Road, Closworth. I was the official photographer for Weymouth and District Riding Club and their event on 25th April – Bank Holiday Monday. We had a very bright and warm day, which made for great opportunities for photography. I captured images of the first two of the various classes at one single fence location, before I moved around the course for alternative views of the jumps facing the pairs and later classes.
It was a long day, with riders setting off almost continuously, at 2 minute intervals - all of which kept me fully occupied until the close of play by late afternoon. The riders all seemed to have a great day and participants and their families were clearly having a great experience at this fantastic venue. The images will be available for viewing very soon. Wedding Photographer at The Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth, Hampshire

Today I attended The Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth to photograph the wedding of Leanne and Richard. It was a lovely wedding to photograph, with around 60 guests and the fantastic April weather we have had continued throughout the day.

There was a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of time allowed, making for a good atmosphere at this local hotel and popular wedding venue.

After a 2.00pm ceremony, we posed for some photos at various locations around the hotel gardens and we had great conditions. At around 4pm the wedding breakfast commenced and was a fab (I tried it!!) outdoor BBQ.

Later in the evening the entertainment was provided by local DJ called DJJoe who I know well and whose website is at: www.djjoe.co.uk

I thoroughly enjoy working at the Brookfield Hotel and especially with their Wedding and Events Manager called Jamie Drew (01243 373 363) who coordinates all their weddings and other events.
