Wedding photographer in Hampshire. The Farmhouse Inn Lodge Wedding Fair in Portsmouth.

Today I attended a Wedding Fair at The Farmhouse Inn Lodge Hotel in Portsmouth and shortly after a wedding reception I photographed here, on 1st April. I was promoting my wedding photography in Hampshire and Portsmouth: http://www.martinlewis.biz/

You can view the Innlodge website here: www.farmhouseinnlodge.com/innlodge/default.htm

I enjoyed working at the Inn Lodge previously (a popular Portsmouth reception venue) and so thought I would pop back and see what their Open Day entailed. I have worked with the conference and banqueting staff, including Keli Feilder who can be reached on 02392 650 510. She helps to coordinate all their weddings and other events and has been very helpful to me in the past.

If you attended the wedding fair on the 25th and took away my details, chatted, or looked at my work - I look forward to meeting you again, perhaps showing you a further range of my wedding books, or being booked as your future wedding photographer!!

A few recent sample Portsmouth wedding images are shown here – please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to inquire about your Portsmouth wedding photography options with me.

Wedding Photographer in Hampshire. Marwell Hall and Zoological Park

Today I was at a wedding at one of my favorite locations in Hampshire – Marwell Hall (Wildlife Park and Hall) in Colden Common near Winchester, for the first time this year. I was doing the wedding photography for Ali and James.

After some preliminary photos at arrival times (Zoo train!!)…………..

The ceremony was fantastic to photograph at the Hall. The lemon and black Rolls Royce wedding car was also a great ‘prop’ for me and the backdrop of the Hall itself always makes for a good location for photos.

We were lucky to get great weather throughout the day for photos around the Zoo. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we completed some obligatory family and friend group photos, before the couple, myself and a member of staff headed off in a ‘golf’ buggy to the Lemur enclosures for some photos (or fruit for lunch if you happened to be a Lemur).

I was helped throughout the day by the resident Toastmaster at Marwell Hall called ‘Pav’ who did a fantastic job in coordinating parts of the function in his typically commanding, but never overpowering or dominant style. You can view Pavs own website here and from a personal perspective - I would totally recommend him for any similar function or event you may be holding: http://www.toastmaster1.co.uk/

A great meal was provided by the staff at Marwell Hall (I tested it – thanks!!) before cake cutting, speeches and first dance.

The website of the Wildlife Park is here: http://www.marwell.org.uk/ I was assisted throughout the day by Izzy and Regan who (were fab) can be contacted via email: events@marwell.org.uk tel: 01962 777 966 or 936 and are both part of the Functions team. These details are to be found on the Weddings and Events section under the ‘Functions’ header / tab of their website.

The images will be available for viewing for Ali and James and their families very soon. There are a few images shown here – Not necessarily the ‘best’ ones that will end up in the album – but hopefully a few that interested me in a slightly more quirky or alternative view of the day and will give you an insight into my photography.

Surrey equestrian event photographer. Wey Valley Riding Club Spring Dressage event at The Priory EC

Today I visited a regular previous haunt for me in ‘photo-land’ from earlier in my career as an event photographer – the Priory Equestrian Centre, Frensham in Surrey. I was the official photographer for Wey Valley Riding Club and their Spring Dressage event on 18th April – one of a range in their Omnibus 2010 Schedule.

You can view the website of Wey Valley RC and find details of all their events, membership, news and results here: http://www.wvrc.co.uk/

The contact for these events at WVRC is Storme Whittaker: 07765 124 955 (between 6 and 10pm) or email stormewhit@tiscali.co.uk

The Priory EC is at Frensham, Farnham in Surrey GU10 3DP. Tel: 01252 790 014

We had pretty amazing and warm weather, which made for reasonable opportunities for equestrian photography. Albeit, sunny days do make for directional light and harsher shadows, resulting in challenging conditions to photograph ‘action’ shots.

I captured the various classes ongoing throughout the day and focused primarily on the outdoor arena, until around 2pm when that section completed. There were two arenas, plus a warm up area and varied classes / events throughout the day – all of which kept me fully occupied and pretty tired by the end of the event in mid / late afternoon.

The images will be available for viewing very soon. For a limited time of around 6-8 weeks you can view all my images in the order online section on the website: http://www.martinlewis.biz/ There are a few images here, just to give you a flavor of the event.
Why not contact me if you require photographic coverage for a similar event. I have covered One Day Events, Pony Club, dressage, show jumping, cross country, endurance rides, indoor and outdoor showing, training or even charity equestrian (or golf!!) events.

Wedding Photographer in Hampshire. Aldershot Register Offices

Todays wedding was at Aldershot Register Offices, which was a first visit for me. I was doing the wedding photography for Stella and Anthony. I currently advertise in the Hampshire Ceremonies Guide which utilizes many of my images throughout the editorial. So I am likely to visit the outer extremes of Hampshire (for me, being S Coast based) more regularly in the future. I am also featured throughout the Sussex version too!

You can see the Hampshire Ceremonies Guide on line and get details of all their nine Register Offices: http://www3.hants.gov.uk/registration.htm

At the end of the PDF of the Hampshire Ceremonies Guide you'll see a link to the Sussex version, if you are interested.

Aldershot Registration Office has a capacity for 30 guests and is at 30 Grosvenor Road. It has some adjacent landscaped gardens for photos. It is in the NE of Hampshire, a large and varied county.

The ceremony was complex to photograph at the Register Offices as the room was pretty much full to capacity and the windows are light facing – making for tricky lighting conditions.

After a few photos for confetti and with the Morris Classic wedding car outside the Register Offices, we all headed off to The Mill in Elstead for some family photos and a meal.

A buffet meal was provided by the staff of The Mill. You can view their website here: http://www.fullers.co.uk/rte.asp?id=4&itemid=180&task=View

The images will be available for viewing for Stella and Anthony and their families very soon. There are a few images shown here.

Wedding photography at Highcliffe Castle in Dorset. Joanna and Colin get married in Christchurch.

Today was wedding at one of my favorite locations in Dorset – HighCliffe Castle in Christchurch. I was doing the wedding photography for Joanna and Colin.

After some preliminary photos at the Lord Bute Hotel, where the brides preparations occurred: http://www.lordbute.co.uk/ …………… I headed off …………..

The ceremony was fantastic to photograph at the Castle. The atmosphere at this location is truly special and it makes for fantastic photo opportunities.

We were lucky to get great opportunities for photos around the castle, with great weather compared to the recent past. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we completed some family photos, before the couple and their two bridesmaids headed off to the beach for some 'action' photos.

Later, a great barbeque meal, provided by the staff of Alfresco was provided by Richard and his colleagues. You can view their website here http://www.alfrescocatering.biz/

The website of Highcliffe Castle is here: http://www.highcliffecastle.co.uk/ I was helped on the day by Jo Peters who is the new Wedding and Functions Officer at the Castle and found her very proactive and helpful. Jo can be contacted on 01425 278 807.

Event photographer in West Sussex. Franks Party at The Black Horse, Binsted.

This lunchtime I attended The Black Horse in Binstead, nr Arundel, West Sussex, to photograph a family get together for the 95th Birthday Party of Frank. I was the official photographer for this small family event.

As you can see from the sample of photos I have attached – it was a small family get together, for around 17 people – but from the ages of just a few months to 95 years. Family groups posed for some portraits outside in the gardens and in the conservatory between 1pm and 1.40pm.

I enjoyed working at the venue and you can see their website here: http://www.blackhorsebinsted.com/ or call them on 01243 551 213. If you are organizing a similar event – why not contact me to see if I am free and might be available to cover yours?

My images will be available for viewing and sale to the participants very soon, typically within 24 hours of each event. A few sample images are shown here.

Wedding Photographer in Hampshire. HMS Warrior

Today was a local wedding at one of my favorite locations – HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard. I was doing the wedding photography for Rosie and Fraser.

The ceremony was enjoyable to photograph and was on the ‘Half Deck’. The mood and atmosphere at this venue is fantastic - the location is truly special for any wedding.

We were lucky to get dry conditions after a damp start - for some great opportunities for photos around the ship. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos on deck and at various locations, before the couple and their guests headed below for a great meal, provided by the staff of County Caterers. You can view their website here, or via the link to them from my own website links page: http://www.countycaterers.co.uk/

The images will be available for viewing for Rosie and Fraser and their families very soon.
