Black and White candid or natural photography for local nursery.

Today and yesterday I dedicated some time to shooting some candid shots of all the toddlers attending a local nursery. I was specifically asked for a pack of prints for each child and from one single chosen Black and White image. The images were intended to be 'natural' ones of the children at play, in the gardens of the nursery.

The children and nursery were local to me and I am pleased to say that this was my second year at the venue.

I am also running various 'Free' studio or outdoor natural light sittings for local families and also a 'Bump to Baby' and newborn scheme via my website and various mailers I do for local families. It is a good idea to capture some images of your baby at intervals throughout the first year and starting from say around four weeks. Maybe also your older child, say a two, three or four year old, or even teenager if this appeals to you – why not get in touch and see what we can arrange.

The images will be available for viewing for parents and their families shortly after each session and there are a small selection posted here too, to give you an insight into my style and approach on this particular time.

Hand Fasting Ceremony photography in Hampshire

Today I was at a Hand Fasting Ceremony in Clanfield, Hampshire. I was doing the photography for Sandi and Mark and it was an outdoor, relaxed and FUN day.
We were lucky to get great weather throughout the day for photos around the venue, the Sustainability Centre in Clanfield. Having photographed the ceremony, I photographed the couple and most of their guests - jumping over a broomstick!! The day and the ceremony was fantastic to photograph and being open air and a much longer ceremony than say a Register Office wedding, was more varied, interesting and relaxed to photograph. This was the first time I photographed such a ceremony and it was a fascinating day. Some of the guests were staying in tepees which you can see in the background of one of the photos and later in the evening it was planned to have an open camp fire and some live music, singing and dancing. Hopefully you'll get a flavour of the day from the small selection of photos I have uploaded to my blog.
Despite it being an open air event - County Caterers were on site in a marquee and produced a stunning array of food and drink for the guests and sadly it was time for me to leave when the food was served!
The images will be available for viewing for Sandi and Mark and their families very soon. There are a few images shown here – Not necessarily the ‘best’ ones that will end up in the album – but hopefully a few that interested me in a slightly more quirky or alternative view of the day and will give you an insight into my photography. I hope you like them.

Golden Wedding Celebration at the Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth

This morning I attended a Golden Wedding celebration and lunch at the Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth, Hampshire. I was doing the photography for Penny and Roland and it was a relaxed, fun and family orientated day.
We got great weather (very bright midday sun!) throughout the photos, which occured in the hour or so before lunchtime and in their very well presented gardens. Hopefully you'll get a flavour of the day from the small selection of photos I have uploaded to my blog.
I love working at the Brookfield Hotel, where I am always well supported and I am effectively an 'approved supplier'. Sadly, it was time for me to leave when the food was served - the Brookfield has simply brilliant food!
The images will be available for viewing for Penny and Roland and their families very soon. There are a few images shown here – hopefully a few that interested me on the day and will give you an insight into my photography. I hope you like them.

Official photographer for Bourne Valley Riding Club at The Unaffiliated Horse Trials at Knighton Down, Larkhill

Today I visited Knighton Down, Larkhill. I was the official photographer for the Bourne Valley Riding Club Horse Trial event.

We had good, dry and quite cool weather for the time of year and good light conditions for my equestrian event photography.

There was a range of four classes which covered the same 2 mile circuit all day – all of which kept me fully occupied and pretty tired by the end of the event in late afternoon. I was shooting two cameras - with the second one stood on a tripod next to the fence and triggering off the main one in my hands. This gives a different selection of image to each rider - as you can see below (with luck!).

You can view my sports events photos on line at my website: www.martinlewis.biz and images usually stay on line for up to two months for the competitors to browse and / or purchase prints from me. You can also see samples of my event photography via my website or on my Facebook page or blog.

If you are organising an event and require a high standard event photography service – please feel free to get in touch to check out my availability and to see what I may be able to offer YOU. The organisers of this cross country event were Bourne Valley Riding Club and are a friendly, supportive and dedicated bunch. They certainly know how to put on a great event. You can find their website and contact details here: www.bvrc.co.uk

The images were available for viewing and sale to the riders and their families on the same day. It is always my priority to get event photos on line as soon as I can and offer riders realistically priced photos, with price discounts and to offer them a variety of appealing shots.

Wedding photographer at Marwell Wildlife park.

Today I was at a Monday wedding at one of my favourite locations in Hampshire – Marwell Hall (Wildlife Park and Hall) in Colden Common near Winchester, for the first time this year. I was doing the wedding photography for Katie and Connor.
After some preliminary photos at arrival times (Zoo train!!)………….. The ceremony was fantastic to photograph at the Hall. Katie was wearing some striking white motorcross boots.
We were lucky to get great weather throughout the day for photos around the Zoo, despite a poor forecast. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we completed some obligatory family and friend group photos, before the couple, myself and a member of staff headed off in a ‘golf’ buggy to visit the animals and dinosaurs for some photos. There are about 15 dinosaurs resident at the Zoo until September, if you are thinking about visiting.
The website of the Wildlife Park is here: www.marwell.org.uk I was assisted throughout the day by Izzy and Nicky who (were fab) can be contacted via email: events@marwell.org.uk tel: 01962 777 966 or 936 and are both part of the Functions team. These details are to be found on the Weddings and Events section of their website.
The images will be available for viewing for Katie and Conner and their families very soon. There are a few images shown here – Not necessarily the ‘best’ ones that will end up in the album – but hopefully a few that interested me in a slightly more quirky or alternative view of the day and will give you an insight into my photography.

Wedding Photographer at New Place, near Southampton

Today I was at New Place, Shirrell Heath. I was doing the wedding photography for Melanie and Brent.

I simply use my blog to showcase a small sample of ALL of my on-going and full time photographic work. So you’ll see a lot more photos and work than words and thoughts on my blog. Hopefully, you’ll like what you see. Attached to my blog today, are just a few of my favourite photos from this day. The images were available for viewing for the couple (typically 3-400 each wedding), their family and friends very soon after the day.

I am going through a very busy summer this year, with bookings flooding in for summer 2015 & 16 too - but some availability exists for key dates still and also key dates in the coming Winter. If you are looking for an affordable yet high standard photographer - please do get in touch to see if I am free and might be able to help you too.

Great to see Steve of Lawnswood today too - lovely 1930s Rolls Royce therefore!
