Wedding photographer at St Marys church on Hayling Island in Hampshire

Today I was at St Marys church on Hayling Island, which is very local to me. I was doing the wedding photography for Donna and Hugo and it was a great day, despite the rain, with around 30 people attending. It was a local church I had photographed numerous times before and is a great location for a wedding.

After the ceremony and a few family group shots within the church grounds and indoor shots around the central altar, guests, family and photographer also - were off to the fantastic Newtown House Hotel for a meal and an afternoon and evening of celebrations.

Despite the poor weather the day went well for me, the couple and the guests, with St Marys providing a great backdrop to the group photos. The Vicar Nick at the church was also great to work with and was helpful to me too.

All the images were available for viewing for Donna and Hugo and their families very promptly.

If YOU are getting married this year - Please do get in touch and see what late availability, or special offers I might have available for YOU!

I have been very busy with other commercial work lately - Graduations, property photography for estate agents and lettings agents and other events, but I shot fewer weddings in 2025 than in previous years. So it was a welcome change to attend this small local wedding & to meet and share time on this special day had by Donna and Hugo who were very happy and fun people to work with.

Wedding photographer at the Lysses House Hotel in Fareham, Hampshire

Today I was at the Lysses House Hotel, in Fareham in Hampshire. I was doing the wedding photography for Kim and Nick. Thank you also to the fabulous staff at the hotel, including Davina & Clive, who were a big help to me.

I use my blog to showcase a small sample of my photographic work. So you’ll see a lot more photos and work than words and thoughts on my blog. Hopefully, you’ll like what you see. I focus on getting a small selection of photos from each event live, rather than writing lots of text.

Attached to my blog are a few of my favourite photos from this day. I captured a good selection of images over the course of this day and usually present say 250 - 400 images to the couple. The images were available for viewing shortly after the day.

For the time being and as the wedding industry slowly emerges into the new 'normal', I can offer some very competitive preferential rate options on wedding photography for the remainder of 2022. So if that interests you at all - please do feel free to get in touch and check out my availability and see what options I may be able to offer you too.

Wedding photographer at St Marys church alongside the Castle at Portchester in Hampshire

Today I was covering a wedding at St Marys in the grounds of Portchester Castle in Hampshire – I was doing the wedding photography for April and Ryan. Portchester is a great local location for wedding photos and St Marys is very popular for this reason too.

Despite the Autumnal weather we all had a great time and managed to capture a good range of group photos too - alongside the altar in this fantastic church & prior to heading off to the brides family home for an afternoon and evening of celebratioins in a large marquee within their grounds.

The images will be available for viewing for April and Ryan and their families very soon. Just a few taster samples are shown here to give you an idea of the day and of this fantastic location.

Wedding photographer at the Tithe Barn near Petersfield

Emma and Adams wedding was at The Tithe Barn near South Harting and Petersfield.

This visit to The Tithe Barn was my first this year and is a fantastic location for me. A Grade II listed building - the Tithe Barn is a wedding photographers and guests dream as it is located in private and secluded land on a rural estate near South Harting in the South Downs and also near Petersfield. It is a complex of flint stoned walled buildings located in the beautiful rural Hampshire countryside. The website of the Tithe Barn is here www.tithe-barn.co.uk

Apart from the wonderful external grounds the internal areas at the barn are also fantastic. They have recently had a new glazed balcony installed, new flooring and also re decorations so the inside was looking pristine too.

I was on site for the duration of the day and left only after the first dance. The images were available for viewing for Adam and Emma and their families very soon. A couple of my favourites are displayed here.

The couple told me that they were not doing a traditional first dance (alone) but were inviting all the guests to join them. Despite this scenario being potentially disapointing to any wedding photographer as capturing images of the happy couple within 70-80 guests on a dark dance floor could be a bit challenging - I still managed to target them and get some attractive dance photos, despite the grooms stated reluctance to dance! Sometimes spontaneous photo opportunities work as well as planned ones.

I will continue to list a few taster photos from each wedding I attend. I still have some good availability going through this year (including a few key Saturdays in summer 2019 for example) and I am now offering great prices and options for remaining dates and ultra affordable mid week options. Please do get in touch if this interests you at all & pleaese dont delay if you are thinking of booking further ahead. It does make good sense all round.

Wedding Photographer at the Old Thorns Hotel, Golf and Country Club near Liphook in Hampshire

Today I was at the Old Thorns Manor Hotel, Golf and Country Club, near Liphook in Hampshire. I was doing the wedding photography for Chloe and Andy.
Chloe and Andy were great fun to work with and clearly had an enjoyable time. After a short ceremony, we all headed out of The Hampshire Suite, for an afternoon and evening of photos, a wedding breakfast and celebrations into the night. You can see the website of the fab Old Thorns Hotel here: www.oldthorns.com
I hadn’t attended the venue for a year or so and it is being extensively extended / expanded again! We were in the 'Hampshire Suite' and not the ‘Grand Ballroom’ location on this occasion at this fantastic venue. The highlights for me included photos on the golf course near to a lake and some other fabulous locations, with stunning views over Hampshire. We were driven around in a large golf buggy by the wedding coordinator who was very helpful and knew all the best places to visit. I have attached a few of those images to give you a flavor of the day and can’t wait until the next time I return to this fantastic (from a photography perspective) location for a wedding in Hampshire.
I thoroughly enjoyed working at Old Thorns again and got on well with the wedding coordinator and colleagues who were all very helpful to me.
The images will be available for viewing for Chloe and Andy and their families very soon.
