Today was a Hampshire wedding at one of my favorite locations – HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Penny and David and it was a 2pm ceremony.
Penny arrived in a white Rolls Royce provided by the local wedding car supplier called Lawnswood Limousines: http://www.llcars.co.uk/ Whereas David and most of the rest of the party drove into the port in a minibus. They had driven over from the IOW on the 12 midday ferry!!
The ceremony was in the ‘Captains Cabin’. The mood and atmosphere at this venue is fantastic and around 25 guests made for quite an intimate atmosphere.
We were lucky to get great weather conditions - for some great opportunities for photos around the ship. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos on deck and at various locations. I was only at Warrior until around 3.30pm and the guests headed back to the Isle of Wight and the Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club for their wedding breakfast and evening of entertainment.
The website of HMS Warrior is here: http://www.hmswarrior.org/ and I always enjoy working with the staff here and particularly Julie and Andrew who coordinate their events and weddings.
The images will be available for viewing for Tricia and John and their families very soon.
