PR Photoshoot at Esso Petrol Service Station at the Hogs Back A31, Tongham, Surrey

Today was an interesting job for me and in an Esso Service Station near Farnham in Surrey - I was the PR photographer who was asked to capture some images at the location along with a local optician and lens manufacturer.

The press release will give you some more info about this event and my role:

Farnham driverrs to get on-the-spot eye tests
9.00am – 2.00pm, Tuesday 19 November 2013
Esso Petrol Station, A31, Hogs Back, Tongham, Surrey, GU10 1EU

On Tuesday 19 November, drivers in Farnham will be offered forecourt vision screening in a bid to cut accidents caused by poor eyesight.

Local optician, The Optical Studio, and Esso petrol station in Farnham have joined forces as part of a national campaign to help reduce the estimated 3,000 casualties a year where eyesight is a key factor.

Drivers visiting the garage will be offered a free check by optometrist Bejal Patel who will give on-the-spot consultations and advice.

The Mayor of Farnham, Councillor Patrick Blagden will be setting an example when he steps up to the mark to check his eyes are safe at 11am on Tuesday.

The initiative coincides with Road Safety Week (18-24 November) and forms part of the Think About Your Eyes campaign which aims to identify poor eyesight on the road and urge drivers to take extra care as the nights draw in and visibility worsens.

Dhruve Patel, optician from The Optical Studio said: “A recent study revealed one in six drivers in the South East struggled to read the number plate of the car in front and one in four worried as a passenger about their drivers vision.

“This is a great opportunity for people to become more responsible drivers and I would encourage anyone in the area to pop in and take advantage of the 30-second check. It may just save lives.”

Official Gosport Half Marathon Photographer - Martin Lewis Photographer

Today I attended the Gosport Half Marathon, hosted by the members of Gosport Road Runners Running Club: www.gosportroadrunners.org.uk They are a friendly and supportive crowd and the marshals and support crew do a fantastic job at this event which I have covered now for many years.
I was the official photographer for the event on 17th November 2013. The event website is here: www.gosportroadrunners.org.uk and it was a good turnout / entry level at approaching the 2,000 limit.
We had overcast, but mild conditions and so I managed to capture a good selection of images on the course. I photographed the promenade in Lee on The Solent and was able to capture images of the vast majority of runners as they ran towards home at around 11 miles.
The images will be available for viewing and sale to the runners very soon, typically the same day of each event I cover. A couple of images are listed here just to show you what I do & I have reduced the price of digital files for this event and to generate more good value / low cost sales. If you are an event organiser and might be interested in my photography services - please do just get in touch.

PR and commercial photographer in Southsea, Hampshire

Today I was doing some PR and website type photography for a local and fab wedding cake supplier. I was working with Gemma who runs Tartufi Cakes in Southsea.

Gemma runs Tartufi Cakes, currently based in Southsea in Hampshire www.tartuficakes.co.uk

I have known her for a good while now and recommend Gemma for her fantastic work to my own clients and via my website on the links page. Tartufi Cakes is going through a website revamp and Gemma wanted some up to date images for certain key pages and for her general portfolio of cake and food images.

Should you a reliable, quick, professional, insured, qualified and responsive photography service - please do get in touch with ME! I would love to make contact and potentially work with a whole range of other local businesses and suppliers. Good quality images can certainly help sell your business and in an ever increasingly competitive environment.

Wedding Photographer at Stanwell House Hotel in Lymington

Today was a wedding at the lovely Stanwell House Hotel in Lymington. I was doing the wedding photography for Kim and Neal from Southbourne nr Emsworth.

The ceremony took place in a large room that is usually a dining area and could be best described as a conservatory, owing to the fact that the entire roof is glazed. As it was a damp and overcast day, this was ideal as it made for attractive indoor and naturally lit images and the same benefit - both during the ceremony and for a while afterwards during some group photos.

The website of Stanwell House is here: www.stanwellhousehotel.co.uk and there were good photography options there & so I enjoyed working at this venue for my first time in my ten+ year career in wedding photography. The weather and season gave us some challenges on this day - but the venue has some attrative indoor locations for naturally lit images & ample space for indoor group photos too.

Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos outside with the couple and then at various indoor locations, before the couple and their guests headed into the adjacent main reception room. The setting at Stanwell House was attractive, with an intimate and cosy atmosphere and all the guests seemed to have a fantastic day. The buffet was also pretty fantastic too!
