Wedding Photographer at St Andrews in Farlington and the Tithe Barn nr Petersfield in Hampshire.

Jackie and Kesters wedding ceremony was at St Andrews church in Farlington, Hampshire. The reception was at The Tithe Barn near Petersfield.

I started my day at the home of Jackie’s family, followed by a dash to the church and to secure the last car parking space! The ceremony was good to photograph as the church benefits from a fair amount of natural light and the Vicar was very helpful to me. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we all left promptly for the reception venue.

This visit to The Tithe Barn was the first for a little while for me. A Grade II listed building - the Tithe Barn is a wedding photographers and guests dream as it is located in private land on a rural estate near Petersfield. After a relaxed period between some group photos and meal time, the guests all sat for the wedding breakfast and I was off to process my images and prepare for the next day’s wedding. I do cover a number of ‘short’ weddings (well, the photography part of say up to 3 hours) and particularly away from the popular summer Saturdays. Equestrian event photographer at The Priory Equestrian Centre in Surrey

Today I visited The Priory Equestrian Centre, Frensham in Surrey. I was the official photographer for Wey Valley Riding Club and their Spring Dressage event on 10th April – one of a range in their Omnibus 2011 Schedule, all of which I should be attending.

We had pretty amazing and warm weather, which made for good opportunities for equestrian photography. Sunny days do make for directional light and harsher shadows, resulting in challenging conditions to photograph ‘action’ shots.

I captured the various classes ongoing throughout the day and focused primarily on the outdoor arena, until around 2pm when that section completed. The indoor arena is unfortunately very poorly lit and has virtually no natural daylight.

There were two areas, plus a warm up area and varied classes / events throughout the day – all of which kept me fully occupied until the end of the event in mid / late afternoon.

I look forward to capturing images of all the riders throughout 2011 and in particular at some of the jumping events which tend to produce natural opportunity for more dramatic images.

Party photography at HMS Warrior in Portsmouth, Hampshire

I headed over to one of my favorite locations – HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth this evening. I was doing the Birthday Party and retirement from the Royal Navy photography for Billy and his wife Phillippa.

Guests arrived at the docks in Portsmouth from 6.30pm in two coaches.

We were lucky to get fantastic conditions for some great opportunities for photos around the ship. We opted for some photos on deck and at various locations, before the couple and their guests headed below for a great meal, provided by the staff of County Caterers. All the guests seemed to have a fabulous evening and I left just after the start of the dance at a little after 10pm.

wedding photographer at HMS Warrior in Portsmouth, Hampshire

Today was a Hampshire wedding at one of my favorite locations – HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Penny and David and it was a 2pm ceremony.

Penny arrived in a white Rolls Royce provided by the local wedding car supplier called Lawnswood Limousines: http://www.llcars.co.uk/ Whereas David and most of the rest of the party drove into the port in a minibus. They had driven over from the IOW on the 12 midday ferry!!

The ceremony was in the ‘Captains Cabin’. The mood and atmosphere at this venue is fantastic and around 25 guests made for quite an intimate atmosphere.

We were lucky to get great weather conditions - for some great opportunities for photos around the ship. I was only at Warrior until around 3.30pm and the guests headed back to the Isle of Wight and the Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club for their wedding breakfast and evening of entertainment.

Commercial photographer in Gosport - Spirit of the 40s event at Explosion Museum in Gosport, Hampshire

Today I was working as official photographer for Explosion Museum in Gosport and photographed their ‘Spirit of the 40s’ event on Sunday 3rd April 2011.

We had slightly cool but fine weather which made for good photography conditions for this commercial work commission. There was a range of mock battles and events throughout the day – all of which kept me fully occupied and I worked at the event from 10am until late afternoon.

The day included American paratroops and British infantrymen taking part in a mock battle, live gun fire re-enactments, Allo Allo style sketch performances, military vehicle displays, a mock air raid and even a themed 40s style dance. There was also all sorts of wartime memorabilia and experts on hand to explain details about the items on show. PLUS many themed costumed individuals AND – entry to the museum included in the ticket price.

Wedding Fair at The Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea, Portsmouth - 27th March 2011

On Sunday 27th March 2011 I attended a Wedding Fair at The Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea, Portsmouth and shortly after a wedding reception I covered here, on 11th December. You can view the Royal Beach Hotel website here: http://www.royalbeachhotel.co.uk/

I enjoyed working at the hotel many times previously (a popular Portsmouth reception venue) and so thought I would pop back and see what their wedding fair entailed. I enjoyed meeting all couples, parents and friends and showing them a broad range of my wedding books, or display prints. This was my last wedding fair for a little while (I need a break and to shoot some weddings now!!) and thankfully have a pretty full diary for 2011 and a fair few bookings for 2012 too.
