Hampshire equestrian photographer. Tedworth Hunter Trials at Knighton Down, Larkhill.

Today I visited a new location for me in ‘photo-land’ – a remote stretch of military land (Army MOD), at Knighton Down, Larkhill. I was the official photographer for Tedworth Hunt SC and their Hunter Trials event on 26th September.

We had variable and slightly cool and windy weather, which doesn’t make for ideal equestrian (photographer) conditions. The light was good however.

There was a range of four classes (including a pairs class) which covered the same near 2 mile circuit all day – all of which kept me fully occupied and pretty tired by the end of the event in late afternoon.

You can view my sports events photos in the 'order online' section at my website: http://www.martinlewis.biz/ and images usually stay on line for up to two months for the competitors to browse and / or purchase prints from me.
You can also see samples of my event photography in my website portfolio or on the Facebook page for Martin Lewis Photographer.

If you are organizing an event and require a high caliber event photography service – please feel free to get in touch to check out my availability and to see what I may be able to offer YOU.

The organisers of this event were the Tedworth Hunt SC and are a friendly, well organised and competitive bunch. You can find their website and contact details here: http://www.tedworthhunt.co.uk/

The images will be available for viewing and sale to the riders and their families very soon and as an experienced event photographer, I know that riders like to view their photos the same day – if possible.

Wedding Photographer at St THomas a Becket in Warblington and The Langstone Hotel on Hayling Island, Hampshire

Emma and Malcolm’s wedding ceremony was at St Thomas a Becket church in Warblington, near Emsworth, Hampshire. It’s a fantastic small Saxon church in a tiny hamlet near to my home town of Emsworth. The reception was at The Langstone Hotel, Hayling Island, Hampshire.
I started my day at the church, with arrivals of Malcolm and the Ushers, followed by the bridesmaids, then Emma herself. Emma and her father arrived in a vintage Rolls provided by Lawnswood cars. http://www.llcars.co.uk/

The ceremony was good to photograph as the church benefits from a fair amount of natural light and the Vicar and Verger are always very helpful to me.

Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos outside the front door of the church. We then rejoined the guests after a few photos adjacent to an ancient tree in the church cemetery and all gathered at the gate for a confetti moment, prior to our short trip to the reception venue.

The Langstone Hotel is a good location for photographs. It is a large hotel, situated in the beautiful coastal rural Hampshire countryside, surrounded by water (Chichester – a tidal harbor) and a marina in one direction. You can view the website of the hotel here: http://www.langstonehotel.co.uk/

You can contact Karen, the wedding coordinator at the venue on 02392 465 011 or email her via their website. You could also attend their wedding fair on 17th October 2010 and even meet ME there, as I will be exhibiting my work. You can also see my advert in their 2010 wedding brochure (not the on line version which is not up to date) – if you are considering getting married or holding a reception at the venue.

I stayed right up to the speeches, cake cutting, plus a first dance, as you can see from my sample photos.

The images will be available for viewing for Emma and Malcolm and their families soon after the wedding. Below are some of my favourites from this fantastic day.

Commercial photography in Hampshire. Brooks Macdonald Asset Management Office opening in Fareham.

Today was a commercial job. I was photographing an office opening party at the new Hampshire offices of Brooks Macdonald Asset Management. This was my first ever trip to meet the staff at Brooks Macdonald Asset Management and their fantastic new office location, at the Long Barn, Dean Estate, Fareham, PO17 5BN.

You can find out more about their work via their website: www.brooksmacdonald.com
My attendance was arranged by Carey Shakespeare – Head of Marketing. I was also assisted by Ellie on the day and the staff were all very helpful and cooperative for photos.
Having photographed a couple of staff outside in the grounds of The Long Barn and some detail shots of the venue itself, I worked to capture candid images of all 70 visitors – mingling and socialising. They each enjoyed champagne and canapés, some images of which are shown here. Things went very smoothly and the staff and visitors all seemed to enjoy their celebrations and there was also a short address to the visitors and staff by the CEO, which I photographed, before concluding my work.

These images will be available for viewing for the representatives of Brooks Macdonald Asset Management very soon and for use in their PR, publications, and other internal media. I will be supplying copies of all the images presented, on a disc, to the organisation.

If you should be considering using a professional photographer for publicity, PR, website, headshots, pack shots, staff in situ (action / story telling) photos – please feel free get in touch for a no obligation / no hard sell - discussion. I am offering some very good rates for imminent bookings, subject to my availability, I look forward to helping YOU.

Wedding Photography at All Saints in Dibden and The Forest Lodge Hotel, Lyndhurst, The New Forest.

Caroline and Jon’s wedding was at All Saints Church in Dibden and the wedding reception at The Forest Lodge Hotel in Lyndhurst, the New Forest.
I started my day with some photos of Jon and his Best Man, followed by the arrivals of the guests and then Caroline and her Father and bridesmaids at the wedding car – a classic Rolls Royce.

After a 13.00pm ceremony and a couple of shots at exit to the church grounds - we posed for some family photos at the church gate before the couple headed off to The Forest Lodge. There was a second wedding at All Saints Church at 14.30 that day and so there was only a very narrow slot for us at the church grounds.
We opted for some further group photos and some candid shots and social time in the secluded rear gardens at The Forest Lodge. All the guests sat for their wedding breakfast at around 16.30 and at that stage I was ready for a trip back along the South Cost.

The website of The Forest Lodge Hotel (one of four New Forest Best Western owned Hotels) is: http://www.newforesthotels.co.uk/ForestLodgeHotel.asp
The staff were helpful to work with, as previous for me. The contact number for the hotel is: 02380 283 717 and I notice that they will be having a wedding fair at the nearby Moorhill House Hotel on 17th October, if you are interested. You can also email them at: weddings@newforesthotels.co.uk
The images will be available for viewing for Caroline and Jon and their families very soon. There are just a few here to let you have an insight into our day.

Wedding photography in Surrey | The Mercure Farnham Bush Hotel.

Lorraine and Nick’s wedding ceremony was at The Mercure Farnham Bush Hotel in Farnham, Surrey.

I started my day with some shots to capture some detail of the venue and rooms we’d be using and then met up for photos of Nick and his Best Man John, followed by Lorraine and her Mother at the hotel room.

The hotel is an extremely intimate and traditional place. The ceremony room had a tapestry type painting on the wall which is apparently around 300 years old. In a central courtyard is an ornate statue with a fountain too.

After a 15.30pm ceremony and a couple of shots at exit to the gardens - we posed for some family photos at various locations around the Hotel before the couple headed off to take some further portraits with me – indoors and also by the hotel fountain. Whilst clouds loomed around – it remained dry this day and was a reasonable temperature and so the guests were able to socialize for a while in the welcoming and well maintained gardens.

The guests all sat for their wedding breakfast at around 17.30 and at that stage I was ready for a trouble free trip back to the South Cost, despite it being at the tail end of rush hour on a Friday.
The website of The Mercure Farnham Bush Hotel is: The Bush Hotel The staff were all helpful and fantastic to work with (the wedding co-ordinator herself was exceptionally helpful) and there was free and secure parking which is always a bonus at such single location days for me. The contact number for the hotel is: 01252 715 237.

The images will be available for viewing for Lorraine and Nick and their families very soon. There are just a few here to let you have an insight into our day.
