Wedding Fair at The Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea, Portsmouth - 27th March 2011

On Sunday 27th March 2011 I attended a Wedding Fair at The Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea, Portsmouth and shortly after a wedding reception I covered here, on 11th December. You can view the Royal Beach Hotel website here: http://www.royalbeachhotel.co.uk/

I enjoyed working at the hotel many times previously (a popular Portsmouth reception venue) and so thought I would pop back and see what their wedding fair entailed. The event was being coordinated via ‘It’s a doddle’ and I also advertise with them via their online directory. Their website is here if that’s of interest to you: www.itsadoddle.com/wedding

I enjoyed meeting all couples, parents and friends and showing them a broad range of my wedding books, or display prints. This was my last wedding fair for a little while (I need a break and to shoot some weddings now!!) and thankfully have a pretty full diary for 2011 and a fair few bookings for 2012 too.

A few sample Portsmouth wedding images from my wedding in December are shown here – please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to inquire about your Portsmouth wedding photography options with me. I am running some good prices and special offers for people marrying locally.

You can also obtain my details from my advert in the Portsmouth Registrars ‘Ceremonies Brochure’ in and on the front cover of which you can see samples of my work. You might also see my details in other local Portsmouth wedding venues as I primarily cover weddings in Hampshire and Portsmouth in particular.

Event photographer at The Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth

This evening I attended The Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth to photograph one of their popular ‘Ladies Nights’. You can view the website of the hotel here: http://www.brookfieldhotel.co.uk/

I was the official photographer again for their event on 26th March 2011. As you can see from the sample of photos I have attached – it was a black tie event and was attended by around 60 people. Couples and family groups posed for some portraits in my temporary studio (thats a new curtain in the hotel function room - not a photographers backdrop) at the hotel between around 5.30pm and 6.30pm. Later in the evening I set up my Mitsubishi Dye Sub printer and was able to print some 7x5 inch mounted prints, a fair selection of which were purchased by the guests during the breaks in their event and entertainments.

Photo printing on-site can work extremely well at this kind of special event - formal but great fun. It provides added value to the clients and venue and an instant memento of the evenings celebrations. If you are organizing a similar event – why not contact me to see if I am free and might be available to cover yours?

I thoroughly enjoy working at the Hotel and especially with their Wedding and Events Manager called Jamie Drew (01243 373 363) who coordinates all their weddings and other events.

The guests seemed to have a fantastic evening of music, dancing and fine cuisine and I didn’t finally get away until around 11pm.

A few sample images are shown here – just to help illustrate my tasks on the night.

Wedding Photographer at HMS Warrior in Portsmouth, Hampshire

Today was a Hampshire wedding at one of my favorite locations – HMS Warrior in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. I was doing the wedding photography for Tricia and John.
The ceremony was great to photograph and was in the ‘Captains Cabin’. The mood and atmosphere at this venue is fantastic and around 20 guests made for quite an intimate atmosphere.
We were lucky to get great weather conditions - for some great opportunities for photos around the ship. Having photographed the ceremony and signing of the registers, we opted for some photos on deck and at various locations, before the couple and their guests headed below for a great meal, provided by the staff of County Caterers - in the Ward Room. You can view their website here, or via the link to them from my own website links page: http://www.countycaterers.co.uk/

The website of HMS Warrior is here: http://www.hmswarrior.org/ and I always enjoy working with the staff here and particularly Julie and Andrew who coordinate their events and weddings.

The images will be available for viewing for Tricia and John and their families very soon.

Commercial photography at Action Stations in HM Naval Base, Portsmouth

Today was a commercial job. I was doing some commercial photography for the staff of Action Stations – the Museum of Naval Warfare in Portsmouth Naval Base. I was working with Kerry Jarvie who is the Events Manager at Actions Stations and Nathan Martin of http://www.tdnuk.com/

There was an ‘Offshore Patrol and Security’ Conference and delegates had come to Portsmouth from locations around the country and also abroad. I was asked to capture some images of the delegates mingling and eating lunch and also within the main auditorium, during some presentations.

The website for the Action Stations is here: http://www.actionstations.org/
I am shortly to do some further photography a the Explosion Museum in Gosport which is now operated alongside Action Stations and which also hosts weddings at both locations. You can see the website of Explosion here: http://www.explosion.org.uk/
These images will be available for viewing for the staff of Action Stations very soon and for use in their website, PR, publications, and other materials.

HighCliffe Castle Wedding Fair, Christchurch in Dorset

I had a great day attending the HighCliffe Castle Wedding Fair on the 20th March 2011.

This was my first visit to HighCliffe Castle as an exhibitor, having covered many weddings and receptions here previously and I advertised in their Wedding Ceremonies Guide, over the last 3 or 4 years. HighCliffe Castle and the surrounding areas makes for some fantastic photo opportunities. I really love working at this venue.

I realise that many couples visiting will be getting married, or holding receptions at other local churches and venues and I am pleased to say that I have good experience of many of the great venues and other locations for photography in this locality.

I enjoyed this first visit and was displaying a good range of my recent work and many of the products I supply. There were real wedding albums of recent weddings from venues I frequently visit such as HighCliffe Castle, HMS Warrior and others in Portsmouth, albums from weddings at Rhinefield House Hotel in the New Forest.

I wanted to thank all who came along and chatted to me. I had some details and information for people to take away, but can spend time chatting to you about your plans ANYTIME too – All without any sales pressure or sales gimmicks I might add – that’s not my style! I will be happy to chat to you on the phone, either before or after each of the Fairs I plan to attend throughout 2011.

I would draw everyone’s attention to my SHOW time limited special offer of a FREE disc of all the images presented – to any new (Level 3, 4 or 5) HighCliffe Castle FAIR wedding booking for 2011 or 12 – received by or shortly after this wedding fair. These offers have been runing through the Winter and I plan to remove them from my website and in general, very soon. So please dont delay, if this interests YOU!!

Please contact me for further details, to discuss your plans or perhaps to ask for the opportunity to arrange to meet up at a mutually convenient time, should you wish to do so.

Wedding Photographer at The Elvetham Hotel at Hartley Witney, Hook in Hampshire

Becky and Owen’s wedding was at the Elvetham Hotel in Hartley Witney near Hook in Hampshire. The Hotel is a 19th Century Mansion House and has some fantastic gardens and stunning interior areas too. The ceremony room itself is wood panelled on the walls and has great day light from the large sash windows - making for great photography opportunities.

I started my day in the gardens with some photos of Owen and his Best Man, Fathers and Usher and then Becky and her parents and bridesmaids at the bridal suite.

After a 15.00pm ceremony and a couple of shots at exit to the hotel - we posed for some family and group photos in the extensive landscaped gardens.

After some more photos with the couple and a receiving line for the guests - they sat down for their wedding breakfast at around 17.00 and I was ready for a trip back to the South Cost, after a relatively short day for me.

The website of The Hotel (the first time I had covered a wedding at The Elvetham Hotel and it was fantastic to cover) is: http://www.elvethamhotel.co.uk/ The staff were very helpful to work with, for me. The contact number for the hotel is: 01252 844 871

The images will be available for viewing for Becky and Owen and their families very soon. There are just a few here to let you have an insight into our day.
